Raketa at Baselworld 2012

This year Raketa again presented its new collection at Baselworld. In addition «Raketa» has introduced two new items: a sample of the new automatic movement and a watch designed by Natalia Vodianova.

After thoroughly studying the archives of Raketa, Nathalia decided to use as a basis for her design a famous Raketa model dated 1974, and has completely redesigned it.
The tenderly shimmering mother-of-pearl dial encrusted with red crystals, reflects the nature of a modern woman.
The symbol of the Nathalia’s charitable foundation «Naked Harts», adorns the mechanical movement.
Part of the revenues from the sale of this watch model will be dedicated to Nathalia’s charitable foundation.

Two years after starting to reorganize its Manufacture, Raketa presents its own new automatic movement. This fully made in-house new automatic movement was elaborated thanks to new equipment and the collaboration of Swiss engineers.
Originally the Petrodvorets Watch Factory first produced its own automatic movement in 1975. Despite the high quality of this movement, the Manufacture discontinued its production it in the late 80’s due to the difficult economic situation of Russia at that time.
The new “Automat”  is thinner and has a smaller diameter than Raketa’s previous automatic movement. The Manufacture is currently preparing two variations: “Automat 2615”  with 3 hands and “Automat 2627” with double date.
The first Raketa automat watches will be available by the end of 2012.
