Raketa has released a limited collection of watches by the request of VDNKh to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first successful launch to the space
The year 2021 at VDNKh is dedicated to the anniversaries of the country’s main space achievements: the 60th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s flight and the 50th anniversary of the launch of the world’s first manned station Salyut into orbit. For the Year of Space, the country’s main exhibition center together with the Raketa Watch Factory presented a unique watch.
The model was released in a limited edition of 20 pcs in honor of the 60th anniversary of the first manned flight into space. On the sector of the self-winding movement, there is the dome of the Cosmonautics and Aviation Center.
The presentation of the “space edition” took place in the Cosmonautics and Aviation Center. The master class and an open meeting were held by the leading watchmaker of the Raketa factory Xavier Girodet.
The collection is based on the Raketa Classic Big Zero model. On the dial of the limited edition is indicated the time – 9:03 – the same time when on April 12, 1961 command “Start” was announced, which became the starting point in the conquest of space and forever changed world history.
By the Raketa tradition, the dial design with “0” means the beginning of a new era in the exploration of outer space by mankind.
“Raketa” is one of the few brands in the world whose mechanical parts are produced from “A” to “Z” within its own Factory. With its moving parts all produced in the Factory, and with a design marked by the DNA of three centuries of Russian history, the Russian brand “Raketa” acquired a strong reputation worldwide.
